How this is calculated
We take the calendar difference between your date of birth and the reference date, adjusting for varying month lengths — the same method used by most civil registries. It does not account for leap seconds or time zones, only calendar days.
Why does my age in days look different from years × 365?
Because of leap years. On average a year is about 365.25 days, so multiplying years by 365 slightly undercounts the real number of days you’ve been alive.
Can I calculate the age of someone who hasn’t been born yet?
No — enter a date of birth that is on or before the “as of” date.
Is this the same as my legal age?
In most countries, yes — legal age is based on calendar years since birth. Some jurisdictions have specific rules (e.g. age changes the day before the birthday), so check local law for legal purposes.
